Its hard sometimes to look around and see how degraded the natural state of the world has become. While I have faith in the earth's ability to heal, there is also a place where we need to just acknowledge how far we have strayed from where we started. This is a song asking for forgiveness and redemption from the earth for our collective delusion.
lyrics
Oh how I love the wind and the rain
The sky with its open yawn to the day
And Oh the memory of the wild
Implores me to say
We traded the songbirds for a pocket full of gold
We dug up our garden blindly doing what we've been told
Traded the trees for glossy magazines and after the orgy is over
The hunger still remains
Please forgive us
We got lost in the fantasy
Where to we go from here?
We traded the love of the rain
For nameless things we could attain
Traded the wisdom of silence
For a crowded stage striving for fame
We traded tomorrow for yesterday's waste
Traded the ocean for one last taste
Where do we go from here?
Please forgive us
We got lost int he fantasy
Where do we go from here
